Onset Fire Department Reports Vehicle Pulled From the Water – wbsm.com

A vehicle had to be pulled from the water off Onset Pier on Friday night.

According to a release, at about 10:37 p.m. on July 22, Wareham Police notified the Onset Fire Department that a vehicle was in the water at the Onset Pier with occupants possibly still inside.

The fire department responded to find the vehicle had entered the water from the beach and was mostly submerged. A police officer had entered the water, found a man who had made it out of the vehicle, and assisted him back to the dock. First responders then confirmed with the man that there was nobody else in the vehicle.

The man was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

Onset Fire personnel remained on the scene until the vehicle was removed by a local towing company, ensuring that no fluids had been released from the vehicle into the water.

The scene was cleared at 1:41 a.m., according to the release.
