YouTuber Driven Media is renowned for his interesting car experiments, where he engineers new vehicle models and conducts exciting new tests on them. You may remember this episode where he put skinny tires on a regular car and this one where he explains how Honda’s oval piston engine works.

Now, the YouTuber is back to find out how much faster a lighter automobile can go. He accomplishes this while driving a Subaru Impreza that cost him a mere 4,000 GBP ($4,600).

What does he remove from the car? Well, pretty much everything including, the seats, the carpet, and even the windshield wiper. Let’s hope it doesn’t rain!

What is the point of this experiment? To build a super fast car with under 15,000 GBP ($17,265). To achieve this, the YouTuber also fitted to the car a new clutch, a set of coil overs and some semi-slick tires.

He then decided to test his new model on a race track. How well did it perform? Did all the removed parts cause any damage or slow down? Where did the driver sit? What did the YouTuber learn about a cars’ engineering through this experiment? This video answers all these questions and more.
